Does anyone know if its possible to get a Lucas solenoid for a Perkins ad3.152 starter? Or do I have to buy a whole new starter? Thanks for any info.

Hi,
According to my MF information there was only one Lucas starter motor fitted to the 250. The MF number for the starter is 1680 065M3. The MF number for the solenoid for this is 1887 779M1. Either your local MF agent or tractor parts supplier should be able to cross-reference a solenoid from one of these numbers.

A local starter/alternator repair shop should be able to get you one. The Lucas starter used 2 different solenoids one was part number 3474587M1 (2 contacts), or part number 1894550M91 (4 contacts). The replacement starter is part number 1868283M5.
