2775 clutch stuck

I am looking at a 2775 that a neighbor has for sale cheap. Starts up and runs good, but the clutch is stuck. It is an 8 speed tractor. Is
this a common problem and is there an easy way to break it loose. I have had other tractors with stuck clutches before and sometimes you can
put a little strain on it with the clutch pedal down and they might release. If that don't work, any other ideas?

Cannot say on that tractor as such but it is a common problem on many tractors and yep driving it around if gear holding the pedal down is one way to free it up. Unless the disk if coming apart then you have to split the tractor and install a new clutch. Also more common to have that happen when the clutch if getting to the point it is about wore out so the rivets start to rust to the flywheel and that causes them to stick

A lot depends on what equipment you have on hand. To me it would be pretty easy but then I have a 17 foot long I-Beam with 4 chain hoists on it and 3 of the 4 are on trolleys. Split an IH 656 last summer and had it in at least 4 pieces. The guy got it with 8 out of 10 ring gear bolts broken so I had to split it into 5 pieces. Engine, transmission both rear axles and the lift cover

If it's an 8 speed and runs good and cheap like you say, I'd buy it. You could probably find a lot of buyers interested in the 8speed if you parted it out. I replaced the clutch in my 2745 and it wasn't bad at all doing it on a level concrete floor. You have to follow the instructions in the manual though. If not, you'll be wasting your time.

I have an A frame hoist and a splitting stand. I just split my 4430 JD for a rear main seal. I haven't looked at this one, but some cab tractors are worse to take apart.

My money would be on the cable or the throw out bearing on that one. Its a spicer truck clutch in there. Had the throw out bearing go on my 2805 while I was in the field. Got to the end, and she didn't stop!

Really they are not a bad tractor to split. I did mine on a concrete floor with a bottle jack on rollers under the oil pan.

Another thing that could happen is the pivot pin on the clutch petal can break, had that happen on my 2705 one day, and if you didn't do it yourself it would be hard to know about it.
