Okay I know Ive been pestering you guys over the past couple of weeks about various issues Ive had with the 2805. Clutch safety switch was an easy fix, just dismantled it and cleaned the terminals and works fine. Oil pressure switch was leaking and will look to get one when I visit the USA in September but sealed up the leaks meantime with two park epoxy adhesive. Back plate on 3 pnt leaked oil so dismantled and re-sealed the O ring so nice and dry now. Brakes were dragging causing the rear end housings to heat bad, tracked back to master type cylinder under hood adjacent to dash. The control rods and piston mechanism was seized which I managed to free up but then found one of the activating rod that are operated via the foot pedal was broke, I was able to weld this up and after adusting the free play at the pedal the dragging stopped. Anyway I took it on several test runs to check everything worked and the there were no oil leaks I decided to take her to local show yesterday, they were featuring Massey so it was a good oportunity to show it off. Now the show was about 6 miles away, tractor ran nice and smooth with lots of power and bark from the exhaust pipe, definately made an entrance. Im not sure yet if all it as it should be though as the rear end was definately getting hot by the time I was there and back, would this be as expected?
The show was a success with a good turn out of Ferguson and Massey Ferguson models, we had a parade and ended up with 127 tractors in the ring at the end. My son drove the 2805 and I had the 97 fwa.
Just wanted to thank everyone for all their help and advice and any further suggestions you have re - rear end temperature.
