After months of work, and re-painting I finally got to use my MF135 diesel for the first time along with my recently purchased MF25 hay rake.

(quoted from post at 17:06:47 07/17/16) good lookin pair. what the heck was that push bar used for?????

The push bar will "hopefully" keep my new grill from getting beat up, and protect the remote hydraulic pump on the front (once I get it on there). It's still a work in progress, but it is sure nice to be able to use it after just working on it for months.

I put the 135's swept back axle/front support on my MF2135 industrial gasser which will be going up for sale soon, and put the industrial front axle/support that accepts a front mount hydraulic pump (ignore my dirt, and plywood floored shop/barn I painted it in).

Questions on your clutch. Did you have to adjust the fingers and what tool do you use to make this adjustment?

Also, were the PTO clutch adjustment bolts already set at .080" or thereabouts? I need to get a feeler gauge still to check mine.

Thanks!

Jeff

I would check the pto adjustment bolts, some like to set a new clutch to .060" - .070" when the clutch wears in that gap opens a little bit (I use a combination of feeler gauges to get .065", or find piece of metal that is the thickness I want). To adjust the bolts on the clutch fingers, here is a simple tool you can make.

Well I made the gauge shown in the picture above and found that all 3 fingers are unable to adjust inward enough to fit under the gauge. I did note that they are all equal distant set from the factory. So I'm thinking of just leaving them the way they are. They are maybe a 1/4 inch out from where the gauge would have set them to.

I did get the PTO clutch adjusted to .090 at all three places on the clutch.

What do you think about leaving the fingers the way they are?

As long as the 3 bolts on the arms have no more than 3 rounds of threads showing on the backside of the arms it should be ok. Anymore than 3 rounds of threads showing on the backside of the arms the bolts may hit on the rivets on the clutch disk when you push the clutch in. That is another way you can adjust the three bolts on the finger by how many threads are on the backside of the arms (flush with the back side of the arms up to 3 round of threads) as long as they are all close to the same height as possible.

They should be good then.

Having trans problems. Could you head over to my thread and see what you think?

Thanks!

Jeff
