MF 135 Power Steering Problem

You guys have been extremely helpful with all the issues on my new 135. After looking this thing over I thought I was in too deep but after taking one thing at a time I'm feeling pretty good about it.

The power steering pump was empty. When I first bought it there was engine oil at the front power steering pump seal. I filled the pump up and the power steering is working now but I am noticing a couple things. I ran it around for about 15 minutes and don't see any external leaks yet, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

1. When I overfilled the power steering pump, it seems there may have been quite a bit of engine oil inside the pump as what was coming back out the fill hole was not reddish but almost black and smelled of engine oil. I am assuming some seals in it may be shot and that is also why engine oil was coming out the front pump seal? Is this a rebuild or a new pump?

2. I am noticing a very fine metal on metal friction sound in the area of the power steering pump and alternator. I thought maybe it was the alternator because I just put a new belt on, and the belt is quite a bit tighter than the other one, but when I move the steering wheel the very slightest in either direction the noise stops. So I'm wondering if it has something to do with the power steering? That or it is putting pressure somewhere when I turn the wheel and stopping the friction.

Pull the pump and inspect it. Only two bolts hold it on, both have 9/16 heads and one of them goes through the alternator tightening bracket. Use a line wrench to loosen the hose fittings.
