1965 MF 135 electronic ignition?

I just bought a 1965 MF 135, gas Continental Z-145 engine. It runs well, but I'm thinking of changing the original distributor to an electronic ignition. If anyone has done this I'd love to hear how easy/hard it was to change and also how it has worked out. My cars from the 60's and 70's all had distributors with points and condensers and I never liked adjusting them. Thanks.

I just bought a 66, 135, with the Z145 engine. I saw that Pertronix makes a conversion kit for this engine. I seem to remember that they made quality stuff. I'll think about it for a while, maybe ask my mechanic friend what he thinks, Joe.

Joe, that sounds great, thanks. Let me know if you hear anything interesting about them. I also saw the Pertronix electronic ignition and was thinking of getting one. I'd love to hear from someone who has installed one or has one on their tractor.

My mechanic said he would just stick with the points. They worked fine this long. He did say make sure you check the distributor shaft and make sure it's not worn out, Joe.

I just put a pertronix kit and a coil on a
3 cylinder Perkins in the spring. The
little 150 always had a habit of fouling
plugs during light work such as raking. Now
it runs better than ever. It was a very
easy installation

Well, maybe I'll reconsider. They were the hot lick back in the 70's on our Mopar hot rods. I was thinking about putting one on my 68 Cuda Convertible because they use the stock distributor, and it's hard to see the extra wire, Joe.
