The weakest point is the hydraulic systems. Known for charge pump issues. The design of the pump shaft and couplings have a bit to be desired. If it goes, you lose brakes, steering, and seat adjustments.

I have had one since 2008 and I think they are great tractors. I have a neighbor that has had one on his place since the 70's and it's still going strong. It has only needed normal maintenance it still does just fine. It's probably unlikely that this tractor has spent it's life doing heavy tillage work if it is in Delta Colorado.

I have read the comments left by others, and every 35 to 40 year old tractor I have been around that gets used has needed some repairs at some point. With my tractor, I have not had trouble getting parts. I have replaced seals, specially made hydraulic lines, AC parts, and they were all available. I have seen on here that parts for the Perkins 540 are getting harder to find, but it doesn't really make sense to me. These engines were used in lots of different applications, from boats to ford trucks. I wonder if more parts are not available for them in the UK? I could see where if an alternate source was available a company like AGCO might decide they don't want to carry those parts. I can?t believe that this engine series would be abandoned by the aftermarket.

There have also been comments about the transmission and rear axles. The transmission is pretty simple and it seems like with good maintenance it should be fine. This has two ranges, three gears with a multi-power power shift for a total of 12 speeds. The hydraulic system and transmission are combined and as long as the screen at the bottom of the tractor is kept clean, hydraulic filters are replaced, and the fluid level is maintained it works fine. None of the 1155?s I have been around have had transmission issues.

Some say that the rear end can't handle the V8 power. I would say that probably depends on what you are trying to pull. Engine, Clutch, transmission, rear axle - which one is the weakest link? Which one is supposed to break first? I have read comments about what you see broken most commonly. If you walk around looking at tractors in a wrecking yard, it goes without saying that they are there because someone didn't want to fix them. It's the easiest place to find a bunch of problems. If you talk to people who have had these tractors in operation for years, you will probably get better information.

The three point is stout and works great with a roll-over plow. I also think the tractor is really agile for how big it is. With good tires that price sounds great. You also know where it came from and that sounds like that?s worth something too. I would say my tractor had a tough life before it came to my place, and despite the abuse it had over the years, it still works good and everything works well. I know you like the other red tractors, but this one is good too. I hope you go for it ? it?s a pretty cool piece of iron. My father?s family is from Delta Colorado ? Good luck!
