MF 2805 24 speed.

Sorry for all the questions, I do intend getting a shop manual for the tractor when I visit the USA in September but am relying on you folks meantime.

I have checked out my park brake on a slope and it just seems to make clicking sounds as the tractor moves a little so I guess its needing work.
Am I correct in saying that if I park the tractor in gear (Int) then I should have at least engine compression as a means of holding the tractor on a very slight slope (not ideal?

Does this tractor have a means of locking the 3 pnt in the up position similar to the 1150 and 1155 model?

Are these tractors prone to the hydraulic filter light flickering off and on or is it definately a filter change needed?

Thanks
Bill

Yes bill when parked in intermediate with engine off and gear selector in lower range 1 or 2 is your best bet but not ideal. I got a 2705 and drive it with a blown o ring in my transmission which burnt up some frictons and had never changed my hydraulic filters when I should of and I'm about positive it bypasses them after there too dirty. Needless to say I had to put a main hydraulic pump in this last spring too. Not a cheap mistake. Filters are cheap insurance.

Since intermediate clutch is applied with spring pressure and RELEASED with oil pressure when either hi or low is applied, tractor should stay put with engine off parked in lower gears. If the three speed is working correctly pull starting should be possible too in eighth gear. Don't recall a three point lift lock on 2000 series like the 1100 series had.

Sorry I have trouble figuring out how to post correctly on this site. I'm not sure on your other questions I'm sure some others will jump in

You can take the tin plate off the bottom of the park and give it some adjustment, but most likely the pawl is shot, not sure why the engineers didn't make it so it had to come out of park before you could shift it into gear, but that is the way they made it. I am guilty of forgetting to take it out of park before taking off my Masseys! Not as bad as my dad though. LOL

As I remember a flickering hydraulic light was not a good sign after it warmed up. What does the light do when in Reverse? I was told when I had one that issues in reverse were signs of a failing trany. A filter change would be a start but I think it holds 30 gallons. There are some places to check the hydraulic pumps(there are 2) output. Hope this helps!
