We have the famous 'tractor don't move anymore' issue after hearing a popping internal transmission noise while rototilling. I have a new transmission shear coupler and cotter pin in hand ready to proceed with replacement after reading many of the same issues/fixes here especially by the Massey Guru DavidP. My question is this:
Do I remove the Independent PTO lever first from the shaft and then the side plate to approach this fix? (leaving any IPTO internals unaffected) or Do I remove the IPTO side plate with the lever attached and does this come out smoothly without any internal interference? My fear is messing up the IPTO. I don't know how the IPTO shaft is internally connected from the side plate. I've looked at different drawings until my eyes are blurry...
The 8 gallons of transmission fluid has been drained and we're waiting to proceed
