Massey Ferguson 2805 - a few questions

Need some clarification on a MF 2800/05 24 speed powershift.

Is the foot clutch cable operated only?

Does anyone have the part number for the oil pressure sender unit locted toward the front of the engine left side when seated in the tractor or can an alternative be used?

Is the only park brake that chrome handle right side of the dash?

Is there any other or additional means of holding the tractor when parked?

Is the intermediate gear ratio (24 speed power shift )the one that doesnt rely on clutch packs and therefore the most reliable to use whenever possible?

Im sure Ill be back with a few more questions shortly.

Thanks for now.

Yes the foot clutch is cable operated. Clutch is a spicer unit the same as used in some trucks of that era.

I doubt i have the number anymore, but the oil pressure switch is just a pressure switch. I replaced mine with one I got from a parts store for much less than the Massey dealer.

The chrome handle is the park lock. I believe the early tractors had a pawl in the ring gear under the cab. The later ones have the lock pawl underneath on the high/low slide gear. Mine is stripped out on the low side, but works on the high side.

Other means of holding tractor? Wood blocks?

Intermediate gear still has a clutch, but it is spring applied, pressure release. As opposed to the others that are pressure applied.

Provided your transmission is working normally, it doesn't make much difference which gear you use, they just don't take constant shifting well.
