Quicke loader on MF 390

Hello, I'm resealing a bucket ram on a Quicke Q36 loader. The rod has a fixed seal hub about halfway with no visible method of attachment but will not move. I suspect that the two halves of the 4' rod are screwed together like a snooker/pool cue with the hub held in the middle. Has anyone ever separated these two rods? Would a Stilson be sufficient? Will I have to make a clamp to grip the rod? Any info will be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi,attempted to unscrew rear part
of rod without success. Spoke to
ALO service department. Necessary
to heat piston to melt Loctite and
can then be unscrewed. There is
another seal hub in the bottom of
the barrel retained by 2 grub
screws.Told it would fall out when
brought down on wooden block. No
way.Had to heat and make simple
puller. All gone back ok. Very
heavy ram to handle.
