M-H 444 Starter problem

After more than a year of total restoration on our 444 I have had the starter to two rebuilders. Today the
last one just called and said he could not get the parts to fix the starter. Desperate for a source for a good
starter or someone who has the parts to fix this one. All help appreciated. Thanks

Get the gear reduction starter, I got one works great.

you need a better rebuilder he is full of it parts are no problem just had one done 2 weeks ago and was done in 3 days new armature, fields,springs and brushes and drive complete 145.00

I was talking to the guy at Vermont Tractor Parts a few weeks ago and he had a rebuilt on the shelf (or did at the time). Give him a call (802-782-2409), I've only bought one item from him but he was really responsive, seemed like a nice guy.
