I am looking at a 1100. I was unable to start the tractor because of a bad ring gear tooth. The tractor was accidentally left in gear and jerked some when the started caught one time. They claimed it ran fine, just would not move and steering did not work. Will a bad charge pump also keep it from moving?

Loss of the charging pump will not keep it from moving, but it will not have steering, brakes, hydraulics, PTO, and MP if it has it. There is a splined trans-diff connection that could be stripped that would cause drive loss.

Hi If it's lost that drive as dieseltech said to the rear axle you don't want to buy it. It probably means that tractors done a lot of hard work has lots of hours on and there will possibly be other issues, or surprises you could find in the rear axle. I had a newer 1135 here did that. It was a total mess in the rear end when we got inside. the final drives, brakes, the pto drive splines, MP clutch drum and pto drum were shot and a few other things to.. The funny part was some of my used stuff came from the older tractors like this and the 1130. In Canada they didn't give as much trouble as the newer 1135 and 55 tractors did. You could get lucky and the main clutch and drive to the pto is messed up but who knows for a tractor that doesn't run right now.

Regards Robert
