massey 275 weak hydraulics

got a 275 that has weak hydraulics. it has a loader on it and will raise somewhat of a load of gravel but is slow, and the tilt cylinders wont even hold the empty bucket in hold position but im thinking that is the cylinders leaking, but the lift cylinders will hold the loader up with engine off no problem. used it to mow hay yesterday and it will fold the disc mower but its a struggle, checked the psi at the outlets and get about 400 at idle and right at 1000psi reved up to i would guess around 1500rpm since tac isnt working. specs show should be around 2300psi. any ideas where i should start to find my problem?

it has aux hydraulics and a filter near the pto lever manual says use 20 micron only and agco site only shows 10 and 25 micron.

you are on the right track, change the filter either will work, also if I'm not mistaken the strainer behind 3 bolt cover under the transmission also serves the auxiliary pump as well as the lift pump clean it also, you will need to drain the case before removing it or you will get a bath in oil,is your fluid clean? after everything is up to par retest your remote pressure if not up to spec check the relief valve for damage or out of adjustment,if you are not familiar with these parts of the system then an I&T manual is worth every cent it cost,if the relief is o.k. then the pump will be next, but pay close attention to the line that connects the pump to the bulkhead fitting of the rear housing it could be loose or damaged losing your fluid I've ran into more than one with that problem

May also be the steel line from the auxiliary pump to the left side cover inside the tractor. Had a 265 last year that line was split near the pump, causing a major pressure loss at the outlets.

Using a loader on these tractors it is advisable to combine the hydraulic pumps so the larger main pump takes the load....that little aux pump is just that, OK for folding up disc gangs or operating the header lift on a chopper etc but just on the small side for loader work....As others have said check filters and use 15W30 super universal oil, but I agree you could have an internal split pipe...The loader rams are either ram seals or a spool valve problem.....Sam

changed fluid and filters and now i get about 13-1400psi, so its still weak, how do i combine both pumps together?
and also for the one that suggest it could be a split line can i remove the top cover and work the lift to inspect it or how would i go about looking for the split line?

if it comes down to replacing the aux pump the manual says tractor has to be split, but a parts lady at the massey place says it can be done from the top, which is right?

thanks
