Massey 275 Samn40 help please!

Sam---you replied to my help request 2 weeks ago regarding my Massey 275.. I put it in gear but when you let up on the clutch, it does not engage/go at all. The PTO still works. I pulled the shifter cover off today and noticed nothing out of the ordinary. You mentioned to remove a side cover to check the shear pin. I can say the 275 does not a any side observation covers, nor is the inside anything like the pics of the 65 that you sent me. Any advice? I really need to get her going as haying will be in about a week or two. Many thanks!!

On both sides of the differential housing below the lift cover for the 3 point, and in-front of the axle housings there is a cover on the left had side to engage the pto. On the right hand side opposite the pto lever/cover there is a control for the draft speed, that cover can also come off. You will need to drain out some of the trans/hydraulic oil before taking those side covers off. Then you should be able to the coupler.

If the tractor has the auxiliary hydraulic valve a sheared drive coupler can only be reached after the lift cover is removed. Left side plate can't be removed until lines inside are off. Can't get to the coupler through the right side because of lift cover linkage in the way.

Sorry for delay answering...I was at silage!......As others have said there is side cover plates and the dipstick side is easiest to remove, but the lid will have to come off to fix the shear tube......There is a roller on the linkage that has to be removed through that side cover before lifting the lid......Sam
