Well yesterday I got the bottom torn apart. Mains look good. Spun #3 rod bearing. The crank don't look bad still had both bearings intact just worn bad. Oil hole stopped up with bearing material. I can't find any marks to show it was oversize or had been ground. I know I'm going to replace the oil pump you can see where both of the mounting flanges has been broken off and brazed. I'm just wondering if I could clean up the journal with emery cloth measure the crank to be sure it hasn't been ground to get the correct bearings and be alright. This engine was rebuilt by Memphis Engine Rebuilders about 17 years ago and when I got the tractor it was still setting on the pallet it came from them on. Only thing is it had set like that for about 14 years and I've been using it for a couple of years now with no problems. I'm hoping all of you that has done this many times will give me some guidance. My dad was a retired diesel mechanic for Plough in Memphis and was my resource on projects like this but he's been gone now for 9 years come August. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give me.
