massey 85 power steering question

Ok, I bought a used for lack of better term front pedestal off another mf 85..........I have two manuals and cannot find how to know where to attach the piece that has the inner tie rods to the bottom of the "pedestal" It has a lot of bolt holes in it.........I am wondering if you take off the front plate down low on the pedestal to line up the pistons even on each side and then figure out the holes to attach the plate that has the tie rods going to the wheels?

THANKS

finally rained in SW Missouri but still over 5 inches short....no hay cut yet.

I might be wrong in my thinking but before I kook the cover off I'd turn the yoke on the steering tower all the way right then all the way right and count revolutions. Then half that and shoot for turning it to halfway. That should ballpark you where you should need to be. I just bought an 85 this week and see where you're coming from. My 90 is the same set up but I had it apart to put a seal in so I lined it up when I put it back together. Do you need any parts?

I've done several of those. Just center the pistons and set the wheels straight and use the nearest holes. There are only six holes so you don't have to be especially precise. Good luck.
