I recently picked up a TO-35 standard diesel to manage food plots on my property. I have been pushing it hard this spring and I just noticed a crack developed in the lift cover. It also has a crack in the transmission
housing where a previous owner cross threaded a lift cover bolt. I have been doing some searching and have found many people that are having a similar problem. I am almost done with all the spring maintenance
and will be tearing it apart for repairs. I am a heavy truck and equipment mechanic so the mechanics of the project shouldn't be a problem. I plan on welding the crack in the transmission housing and repairing the
threads with a helicoil. I am mainly looking for a replacement cover and any advice that would help the repair go smooth. Thanks in advance and I will post some photos of the damage when I take some.
