Bucket problems this time.

The diesel '64 MF 65's loader only works right after start up now. It will work until I switch the valve to use 3 point, and then after that, even if I switch the valve
back to loader, I have to turn it off, and then while it's off, move the valve back to the loader position, wiggle all the hose connections, turn it on, and it will work
again. Not sure if wiggling the hoses makes a difference or not, I just do it every time. The valve goes one way for 3 point to work and the other way for loader to
work. I am planning to change the hydroulic fluid here shortly, just haven't as it's not been used for almost a month. Could this just be old hydro fluid plugging up
line? Or should I be looking for a bigger problem when I drain out the old stuff? Sorry Brendon Warren, still not a fan. I think I have a lemon. Thanks in advance.

That setup is strange, the diverter valve under the seat shouldn't be needed since you have a pto driven hydraulic pump. The pto pump itself should be able to run the whole loader. The pto pump has a suction side which should have a filter before the pump. The pressure side of the pto pump should run to the spool valves to run the loader (lift, and bucket). From the spool valve there should be a return back to the reservoir. Someone made that setup way to complex.

Now that I studied it the tee on the diverter valve shouldn't be there, the hose on the pressure side of the pump should go directly to the spool valve for the loader. The tee on the bottom they are returning the oil back to the suction side, that shouldn't be there either. The tractor is not a lemon, the diverter valve is doing what its supposed to, but you shouldn't need to use it. The only problem the tractor has is the way the hydraulics on the loader are hooked up.

Always thought it was a quirky system. Any idea as to why it kinda stopped working or should I try to hook up the hoses the right way?

Totally agree with ptfarmer, someone really over-engineered that setup. No need to tie two pumps together like that at all. Run the rear pump outlet line direct to the loader valve is what should have been done in the first place.

I'd hook the hose from the pump directly to the loader, and leave the bottom hose the way it is for now to see what it does (work faster, or slower). They could have been using the diverter valve give the loader more gpm (gallons per minute). The more gpm the faster the loader works.

The return should go back in at the top. With the way it is now it is constantly recirculating most of the oil it returns it doesn't allow the oil to cool much if you are really working the loader. The return could have been done that way because the oil level gets too low in the transmission when the loader is used.

With the pto driven pump you shouldn't need the diverter valve at all. You can use the pto driven pump to run remotes for something on the rear of the tractor.
