Hi, I have a massey ferguson 135 perkins 3cyl gas. Ive been battling this for sometime. Done as much searching to no avail. Can someone please help me set the adjustment on the governor? The owners manual doesnt show how and I cannot find it anywhere on the web. Ive found the setting on here for a continental engine...is it the same starting point? Im interested mostly in how to set the yoke to pin hole on the governor arm and at what throttle position? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

With the engine off remove the clevis pin to the carb rod, place the throttle wide open, and carb throttle wide open too. Now adjust the rod length so pin will slide in place. This is a starting point, if engine has a surge problem, or governor is lazy to respond to load the rod MAY need reset longer or shorter if needed. Usually no more than two turns max either way.

When it comes to governors it takes lots of trial and error. I got 2 standards just alike, one works great one don't so I set all the thread counts the same, still a mile away. Only difference I can see is non working one has a stiffer throttle rod.I just love to hear that governor kick in under load.
