I recently replaced the oil pressure switch, regulator and alternator on my 180 diesel. I started it up and noticed a smell of something hot. So I felt the wires going to the switch and they were pretty hot but not melting yet. Checked amperage on them at 22amps. Seems high to me for 12 ga. wire. Is this normal amps at the switch? Also no 12v output from regulator to gauges. Any ideas what to check?
