You've just asked a loaded question......it's a very love/hate relationship between owners!
From my experience.....As any other piece of equipment on a farmstead if it's maintained and not abused it will take good care of you thru the years! Guys that talk down an 1155 most likely have abused then and over taxed the drivetrain!
That 540v8 Perkins is bulletproof!
An 1155 is an 150 hp tractor with the ability to be cranked up to every bit of 200 hp......if it's cranked up one must remember your still operating a machine built originally for 150 hp!
Finding a good 1155 today might be tough as they are getting very old......parts are still readily available from agco although pricey! Lots of good used parts available yet too.
I personally have had very good luck with all my 1155's thru the years......currently own 3 of them although I only use one to farm now. There will always be an 1155 on this farm!
Good luck
