I posted about needing Valve Stem seals. Thanks for the help. I found some that fit. We installed them yesterday. It seemed to help on the smoke but this morning I started the tractor (3165) and let it warm up. After warming up it started slobering oil out of the muffler. Looks like I need to drop the pan and pull the head. Not looking forward to that. Assuming the crank and bearings are good, I'll need to find an engine kit. Does any body have a source for a kit besides my Cat Ago Dealer? Untill I get it apart I won't know how bad it id. Thanks dick

Have not bought a sleeve set for that engine in quite awhile. Last time was a Genuine Parts set from Tractor Supply, Tisco handled them also. Another place would be new old stock Continental dealer Montes Equipment in Chicago. Stay away from the over bore set if you can, I've seen the sleeves crack just below the flange on them.

Take off the tappet cover and make sure that your seals are still in place first. If they are loose they are worse than no seal at all because they go up and down with the valve stem and push oil down through the valve guide.

Cheapest price and best quality parts came from here (ytmag). My engine shop gave me heck for not buying through them but after seeing the comprehensive kit and the price I paid, they stopped. I had no issues and shipping was fast.
