I have a 1963 MF gas tractor. I'm having issues with it starting. It turns over fine when engine is cool but after running it and getting it warm it turns over hard and slow like it has a weak battery but if you let it cool it cranks fast. Also it does after an hour of hard use. It spits and sputters til it dies. Do you think the starter is weak to cause the starting problem? Thanks

Some starters when they get hot can crank slowly, it could be from just a bad connection, to the starter itself. The sputter, and quit could be a bad condenser. or coil. Usually the condenser is going bad (I've had condensers that were brand new, and not even work right out of the box). Start with the simple, inexpensive things before you start spending money on something like the starter.
