I am primarily a Cockshutt guy, but now have 2 Massey's. A pony which I will sell and a 102 Standard Senior which I think will join the collection.
It is serial number 362246 which is on the 101 Senior list as a 1945 machine. I think from what I have read, that the Canadian and Exports 101's in the later production were labeled as 102. No linkage from the transmission to the governor and no B on the gear callout, so I am guessing it is not twin power? Engine should be a 226 from what I have read? Were the panels on the side of it below the gas tank the same as the junior model? I am missing the right one. The transmission, the Massey book I have says the junior and senior had the same transmission. Would it have a 16mph 4th gear like the junior did? Anybody have specs for it like weight, wheel base, etc? It seem longer than the juniors I have seen. Also what oil filter does it take?
That 6 cylinder sure runs smooth. I heard one run last fall and from the sound of it, I though it was a Cockshutt 40 or 50.
I will post some pictures now I have it home.
