MF 135 Lift Arms Will Not Go Down

I borrowed my MF135 to a friend so he could move the mounted corn picker I sold him, to its new home. The picker snoots were very low and to raise them, the lift lever was moved way back to the area in the quadrant that reads Constant Pumping. This raised the snoots up but the arms have not gone down since. Once the tractor returned from picker delivery, I took the rear/top cover off. Deep into the housing (RH side) I found a plunger about 1/4" in diameter. I moved this plunger and the arms went down. I can feel grooves of wear on this plunger as I move it back and forth. I want to access this plunger and replace it. Looks to me that I will need to split the tractor behind the transmission. But I may need to first remove the transmission cover to access the hose connection that connects to the auxiliary pump. Am I on the right track? Is there a better plan? This is a 6 speed transmission with Multi Power. It has a 2 stage clutch and a Perkins Diesel engine if that matters. Can anyone help? I have an IT manual and I am not sure all the transmission options are discussed. HELP

I wonder if you took the lift cover off too early. Does the tractor have the spool valve accessory? If so the left lever must be locked back to use the three point. Will the arms raise/lower when the pump roller control lever is moved forward/ back by hand through the side cover opening? Only time constant pumping should be used is with the left auxiliary lever centered, then the right lever will operate a cylinder. There's a roller that MUST be removed through the side cover BEFORE the lift cover is removed, or linkage damage can result. If a split needs done the shift cover can stay in place as the MP valve feed line can be disconnected at the pump with the lift cover off.

Yes, I am familiar with the roller. The tractor has spool valve. Moving the roller control lever would not let the arms down, only moving this thing I call a plunger would lower the arms. Thanks for your help. I will get it out of the shed and the tarp off it soon to double check things. Are you open to a phone call? Saturdays? weekdays? evenings? Thanks
