Massey Ferguson 135 hydraulic problems

I have a c1967 Massey Ferguson 135 chassis number 16752

The hydraulics for the three point linkage work but have become very weak in its lifting capacity.

It will lift an empty transport/link box normally, but if I load it it fails to lift. If I assist it by doing some of the lifting myself it will lift but drop when I let go.

The oil is at the correct level

What parts are likely to need replacing please, and is this a straight forward job?

Most of the time its caused by worn out seals for the lift cylinder that's under the top cover. There is also a stand pipe that goes from the pump to the top cover could have O-rings that could be leaking. You can drain some of the oil out of the transmission, take the draft speed cover off the right hand side of the tractor that's by your right foot, and work the 3 point while looking inside to see where its leaking.

I am kind of going through this right now on a 245, you might have something similar going on. Mine lifts fine without the top link hooked up, once its attached to a heavy implement it will barely get it off the ground. So what you can check if to see if the top link clevis/spring is loose ( in/out play) it will also rock back and forth if loose. Another way to eliminate this is to bypass the top link with a chain from implement to something solid on tractor. If the lift works after doing that you will need to remove the spring assy and adjust it.

Thanks for your reply, although the toplink attachment point doesn't seem particularly sloppy, there is some play. Without the top link on I was able to lift a load heavy enough that the front of the tractor lifted off the ground - it wouldn't do this with it attached.

How do I make any adjustments please?
