PTO shaft won't slide in all the way after changing seal

Hello,

MF 3165. I am having trouble reinstalling the PTO shaft after I took it out to replace the oil seal. It feels like it is sliding all the way back in, but it still needs to go in another 3/4". Any suggestions what might be preventing it from going all the way in?

Hello,
It always make the refitting a little easier if you engage the PTO via the lever prior to removal. If you withdraw the shaft slightly and engage the PTO id should engage fully. You may need to fish around a little with the front end of the shaft but should have no problem.

Keep trying. It will go. I had the same thing with a 65. I kept monkeying with it and it finally went.
