MH 50 lower lift shaft removal

Hello all. new guy here with a problem. The left lower lift shaft broke off and I'm replacing. I've got the trumpet off and the nut removed, but the old shaft doesn't want to drive out. Before I get to forceful with the hammer I'd like to know should it drive out or is there some other part of the process I'm missing? Thanks.

Thanks Miner 09. I did get it out after heating the area around the shaft and driving it hard with a big punch and hammer. The new shaft is slightly larger than the old one and doesn't fit as well. The parts place double checked and said it is the new "substituted" part 181229V5 rather than 181229M1. I would hate to put this all back together and have it leak or loosen.

Thanks, I didn't know about them. I would prefer having a better fit. I will call them. Are the numbers you mentioned all for the same part?

The original part number for the MH, and MF 50's lower shaft is 181229M2. The 181229M2, and 181229M4 part numbers may have been replaced by part number 181229M5. The higher number after the M usually means its a updated, or revised part in some way so it may, or may not look exactly the same as your old part.

I'm wondering if the one I have isn't the 181229M5 though it says
181229V5 on the invoice. I called SPAREX and the one they have is the M5 with $24 shipping. Ouch...

Could it be that the one I have is larger to compensate for a wallowed out tapered hole? Should I go with it and use the green Loctite. Or take a chance that the SPAREX part will fit correctly?

If I knew it would fit as the old one I would take the shipping hit just to get traction.
