MF 35 fuels tank leak

is this for a sending unit? while disking the garden I noticed a gas smell and found this plate leaking. is it merely removing the screws and replacing some sort of seal or do I run the tractor with only two gallons of gasoline in the tank?

Yes their is a gasket under plate/ sending unit, from AGCO online parts book # 651145, 35 TURF / 35 UTILITY TRACTOR, pg. 38 Item #4 189605M1 1 Gasket, Sending Unit. Check it out..

They are made from either a semi-hard rubber, or cork 5/32" thick. Since you don't have sender all you need to do is cut a 2-11/16" diameter od gasket with 5 holes for screws.

I have a massey parts book dated 9/60 and it does NOT show a provision for sending unit.
