MF40 Power Steering leak

I have a MF-40 that has a leak in the power steering, but I cannot find the leak, no visible fluid leaks to the ground. The unusual thing is that it leaks while parked and not running. If it sits a day or two, I have to add about 6-12 ounces of fluid.

Any answers to this puzzle are appreciated.

Power steering pump leaking into engine. My 40 does the same, but takes several days to get very low. May put new seal in pump, maybe not. If engine uses very much oil, you would not see an increase in engine oil level.

This is what I suspected, and you are right -- mine uses enough oil to make it difficult to see any rise on the dipstick.

I do wonder what this does for the engine?

Maybe in the summer I will tackle the job. Any reason you are hesitating to replace the seal?
