I put power steering fluid in the pump and it shot all over, the pump is over 500. on ebay, I am wondering if there could be another problem because it is real hard to try and turn?

Before buying a new pump try this:

1. Jack front wheels off the ground. If it has a front end loader this will be easy.
2. Turn tractor off. Leave plug on PS pump loose so air can escape.
3. Rotate steering wheel all the way in each direction several times working air out of the system. Listen for sounds of air in the system.
4. Add more PS fluid as needed
5. As air is removed the oil will get less bubbles in it. If no improvement there must be a leak somewhere letting air enter the system.
6. Tighten plug and start tractor to test steering force

The label on my MF-240-S pump reads to hard-turn the steering wheel to the right, run the engine, then fill the reservoir. But don't do it hot. Not sure about that, but that's what it says.

I did that and a light colored brown almost yellow watery liquid kept on coming out. I used about 2/3 of a quart power steering fluid.

There might be a filter inside there that needed changing. You could disassemble the rear of the pump reservoir, off the rear of the pump, and see if you could replace the filter. Not very expensive.
