Paint Codes

Paint has never been my forte, but I am trying to paint a
1962 model MF-35. I don t have any trouble with the red but there appears to be two different greys one on the rims and another on the engine, trans, etc. This leads me to two questions 1.Can anyone help me identify these two colors? 2.Can this group recommend a supplier for it in aerosol cans? I would rather use rattle cans because I am having to do small sections and don't want to go through cleaning a paint gun several times. Thanks

The engine, transmission, etc use Agco part number 830693M1 Bronze Enamel (12 oz. Spray-on). The wheels use Agco part number 830718M1 AR Grey Enamel (12 Oz. Spray-on).

I've known this tractor since it was new and there's no bronze on it anywhere.

Hi.....Was this MF-35 built in the USA or ENGLAND? I'm only familiar with MF 35 X 3 cylinder diesels from England.

Thanks

Bob..

Can not help with paint codes but I am sending you a picture of a US. 35 from the Massey Ferguson
catalog of I believe 1964. The MF. dealership should be able to help with correct colors.

That's what it looked like new.
The closest MF dealer to me can order anything, usually only takes twice to get it right, but they would much rather sell you a lawn mower.

The part numbers, and colors are what the Agco parts book shows for a US made MF 35.

The 1965, and later 100 series uses a somewhat lighter color 830718M1 Enamel, Flint Grey Matallic (12 Oz. Spray Can) on the engine/trans, and 841558M1 Grey (Silver Mist) (12 Oz. Spray Can) on the wheels, and sheet metal.

This is my brothers 1967 135 with the Flint Grey on the front axle, engine, etc, and the Silver Mist Grey on the wheels, and sheet metal. The wheels are the Silver Mist Grey that had been painted many years ago. My brother gave the 135 a recent "UK 135" face lift.

Looks like the Flint Grey and Silver Mist are what I need. I'm beginning to get the impression that either I don't know where to look or MF wasn't quite as diligent about keeping records as was JD. Really glad I found this forum! Thanks to all who helped.

Hi, just to clarify or more likely to confuse things....
The FE 35s (4-cyls)produced in the UK up to 1959 were MF red and bronze or Ferguson light grey and bronze. MF 35s (3-
cyls) from 1959 on were MF red and Stonleigh grey. The UK 100 series had silver mist outer wheel rims with red centres.
The chassis was Stonleigh grey. The red wheel centres were discontinued in 1967.

Add metallic flake to the Stoneleigh grey it would look like Flint grey metallic. There is also a Charcoal grey that looks just like Flint, or Stoneleigh grey. This is my just painted 1967 135 painted with a mixture of RustOleum Black, Smoke grey, and aluminum with acrylic enamel wet look hardener.
