MF 135 Perkins Rotor

I'm tuning up my MF135 Perkins with Gas engine. I've ordered a tune up kit, and everything is fine except the rotor appears to be too small for the distributor spindle, in fact I broke it trying to get it seated. I've had to put the original back on.

Seems like this same thing happened last year with the rotor. Does anybody know if there were more than one rotor size made for a 1967 model. The distributor is the screw on kind.

Thanks for any guidance.

(quoted from post at 19:24:54 02/04/16) The parts book only shows one rotor for the Continental, and Perkins gas (part number 1024916M1). It's a Delco-Remy 1112-457 distributor.

Thanks for checking. I'm apparently doing something wrong trying to get the rotor on the spindle then. It seems to be an exceptionally tight fit.

Did you clean the rotor post up good? I have had trouble getting rotor buttons on and found the post dirty or rusted .

Thanks to all. No, I did not clean the post, but will before attempting this again with a new rotor.
