What model Massey ferguson do I have and any info?

Hello all and thanks in advance. I am looking at purchasing a mf tractor with backhoe and front end loader. It has several issues and I know very little about them. I am trying to determine exactly what model it is, how many hp, engine manufacturer, etc. The only place I saw markings was on the front end loader in big black letters it says mf 30. But, under those letters is a small silver tag that has mf 34. Serial number: L8110 8731. Can anyone give me any information about this tractor? I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks!

P.s. It is a diesel.

i have a mf 30 loader backhoe i am rebuilding now, mine has a perkins ad4-203 motor, its same as a mf 165 tractor for the most part. parts and rebuild kits are not bad in price so far if you have questions post and good people will help if they can.
mf 34 is your loader and mine has a mf 54 hoe.

Thanks for the reply! Is there a way I can confirm mine is the same Perkins engine as yours? When trying to figure out what this tractor was I found Massey ferguson 30 (30hp) and a mf 30 (61hp) on tractor data. One is industrial and one is not? Is This correct? The one I am looking at purchasing is the industrial?

One other question. The one I am looking at will need some engine work. It cranks and runs fine. However, there is "blow by" oil spraying from the bottom of the engine. The owner believes it to be a blown seal and maybe a broken ring? There doesn't appear to be any power loss in running the tractor. Where are you ordering parts from for yours?

Thanks again for all the help!!

Is there somewhere on the engine that tells exactly which engine it is? And on the tractor itself to tell the model? Thanks didnt mean to jump in on this topic but georgia is my son so maybe its ok. Thanks for any help

The tractor is a MF 30 http://www.tractordata.com/industrial-tractors/000/1/3/135-massey-ferguson-30.html

The MF 34 is the model number of the front end loader.

There should be a tag on the backhoe somewhere that has its model number on it.

Thanks for the info. I have found the serial number: 9A T73I38. Does that mean it is a 73? It has 3 pedals (reverse, forward and
throttle on the right foot). So, this tractor has the Perkins AD4-203 engine? Again, thanks for all the help!

we have a good parts store so i let the parts guys get the kit for rebuild from one of there venders,i know this site sells them also. on the air intake you should have a plate it will id the motor as a perkins and under that will give the motor id. mf made a change on the rear axles i am told as mine has square axles and it was the first year for that. also on the head i found the year casted on it as 1974. i like having manuels for everything when doing a rebuild and i got all the r&r manuels from this site and the are reprints of the ones that dealers used. my mf 30 had the motor grave yard dead and needs a full rebuild and the block was cracked so i have another block on the way. i have my e-mail open, i am not a expert but will help if i can.

Thanks for the info. So, I think I explained it has pretty bad blow by and that would need repairing. Where the backhoe drum that allows the backhoe to swing from side to side (sorry don't know correct terms) connects to the frame of the backhoe is cracked in two. So when the backhoe swivels inside the drum the actual drum moves too because the drum isn't fastened to the frame. . That would need welding or replacing. And the bushings and/or bearings in the backhoe are worn. Everything else on the tractor works fine. All hydraulics work good with no major leaks. Front end loader works fine.
In yalls opinion is this tractor worth salvaging? How much would it be worth in this condition?
Thanks again!
