MF245 steering

I need a little help, I have a 1975 MF245 diesel with power steering and it's like the steering is drunk when I'm working with here, all over the place and sloppy, any ideas on what to look for? Thank you

First question is, are you sure it's the power steering and not the steering itself, which I think might more likely.

You could take a look at the power steering cylinders...the early ones which you most likely have, have threaded rods which sometimes work loose if the pins have fallen out, this might contribute but I doubt it.

Have you bled the system? The Owners Manual has the details. Basically put a funnel in the fluid entry hole(the tighter the fit the better) and slowly add fluid in small amounts until its full. You need to turn the steering from stop to stop until you have a solid feel at the wheel. If you stop at the full left turn you can add enough fluid where it won't spill as much when you remove the funnel and put in the plug.
If that doesn't help then check your tie rod ends, may be worn out, contributes to 'death wobble' at road speed. Also check the bolts where one end of the p.s. cylinder attaches to the frame/trans. housing.
