180 in the tractor lab

While I'm tackling my hydraulic issues I figured I might as well check out the MP and address the leaky rear seal. Going for the triple split.

At least you aren't like me. My 175 had factory auxiliary hydraulics but when I got it the remote lines had been plumbed into the lift pump and the auxiliary pump lines brazed shut at the pto lever cover. I figured the pump went bad and the previous owner was too cheap to replace it. I took the top cover off to see what was wrong and the pump was gone! The previous owner removed it completely. Now I am trying to find all the parts to put it back in the tractor which isn't easy since a lot of those parts have been obsoleted.

That sucks. There is a complete rear end and transmission on
craigslist near me but the guy is awful proud of it. $1800. Its
been for sale for awhile.

A lot of the internal hydraulic parts for the 165, 175, and 180 are the same, it can help with the search at the salvage yards. I have a late 165 rear diff case that still has the auxiliary pump and drive assembly if you're looking for one. Don't have the PTO side plate though..

I just finished a double split for a clutch and to fix a couple bad bushings in the aux. pump gear drive. Fired it up to test and now I have only enough pressure to engage the IPTO but its not right. I think the fluid is escaping the IPTO clutch pack through the little holes on the outside and not making the pressure it should. The tractor sat for many years before I brought er back to life. I wish I would've checked that while I had it split but I bet the clutch should hold the fluid and the pump is still good. Also those springs are expensive on the special adjusting bolt that is on the vertical lever that hangs down on the lift cover. The roller you have to remove through the side rides on that bolt.
