MF40 Ind - change front tires to 10 x 16

My MF40 Ind currently has 7.5 x 16 front tires (very old bias ply truck tires), and 14.9 x 26 R1 rears. For all the weight on the front of this tractor with the loader, that is a narrow tire that easily buries down into soft ground. Has anyone ever tried fitting a wider front wheel and going to 10 x 16 F2M tires? Seems that would give a lot more flotation. I'm just worried that I need to find a wheel with either a lot of offset, or use a wheel spacer, since clearance to the steering arm on the insider of the tire is already tight.

(I love this old beast! After all the snow we had last winter, I was thinking about upgrading to a 4WD Ford 445D or 545D, but instead decided to keep my money and put a little back into the MF40 with new tires).

I have a mf20 that had 7.50-16 tires on it
they were in pretty bad shape
a friend of mine gave me a pair of tires off his chevy 1 ton
Good year 275x80-16 LT tread measures almost 11" no problems with clearance
they are about an inch lower in profile than the old ones
if I was going to buy new ones I think I would go with 215x80-16 LT

My MF40 Industrial with a loader has Wide Implement Flotation type tires on the front that provide a wider support and a lot of cushioning for heavy loads. They are on different rims. The original narrower rims with front truck type tires came with it but were off when I bought it. If you want a photo contact me.......

@bluewatermassey - I dropped off my rear wheels yesterday to get the new rear tires fitted, and talking to the owner of the shop, I got the same advice. He owns a Ford 4500 Ind - pretty similar machine - and went with the used radial truck tire option on 16 x 8 rim. Worked out well for him, and recommended I do the same.

I'm still wondering if the clearance to the steering arm / tie rod on the top of the spindle is a unique issue. Right now, between the 7.50 tire inside wall and that steering arm, there is barely 1/8 inch! Same both sides. Are all the MF40's really like this?

On my MF2135 industrial with a 7.50 tire it's pretty tight between the tire, and the steering arm.
