mf 85 clutch problem

I installed a new clutch assembly on this 85 and everything looked in order and now that it is back together when i start the tractor to move it i
push the clutch down and all is well as i drive away but when it comes time to stop i depress the clutch and it does not want to release totally, it
is difficult to get it out of gear but the tractor stops, i have adjusted it with very little clutch play and it acts the same, i need some input
for this. I really don't understand how the hydraulics play into the operation of this clutch but i know it does, one other thing that may help
someone knowledgeable on this is when the clutch is all the way down to release the red pto light comes on until i let the clutch up just a little
and it goes out. any help will be appreciated thanks ron

Hydraulics have nothing to do with the traction clutch. Red light will come on when the PTO pressure dump valve is actuated. Did you place the disc on the transmission input shaft to make sure it slides freely on the splines, and also spin it to make sure the disc is not warped? When the transmission brake is on when pedal all the way down it could shift out hard. My guess is the disc is not straight or not free to slide on the splines causing drag. With a good working trans brake and a good disc both my 85D and S90D shift well.
