MF 135 Lift cover and draft control

Since I do not see any plowing in the future for this tractor is there any way to inactivate the draft control while keeping the position control working?

Is there any reason why you would want to? So long as you leave the draft lever in the 'up' position it would ( or should ) not make any difference to the way the position control works.

I'm having a very difficult time adjusting the fingers lever at the dashpot. I can't get the draft control to tighten up to the dashpot piston so that I can adjust using the three pounds of pull. It just falls freely back and forth.

Hi,
Have you fitted the MF 270B (in the UK) Dashpot Piston Wedge over the plunger. If you have not done this you will not have any definite stop to make the adjustment against. The tool is required later in the setup procedure after refitting. If you do not have the tool one can be made but it must fit inside the pump lever. It is effectively a 'U' shaped wedge which holds the dashpot piston fully out.

Use some safety or baling wire and tie it in the up position for a quick cheap fix. Seen this done many times it lasts for years.
