Massey Ferguson 35X Multipower Lower/No Compression

Hello - we are getting ready to work on a MF 35X with Multipower. The owner's complaint is Low compression on 2 cylinders, and no compression on another. To his knowledge, the tractor has never had engine work.

Can someone point me to a good thorough service manual that I can purchase for this tractor?

Thanks,
Nate

Does this one look correct? It has the matching #'s to the manual your pictures show.

Blown head gasket caused by a dropped
sleeve? I had one in here a couple yrs
ago, it also had a buggered crank as the
thrust bearings were in the pan. Good news
is a new crank is cheaper than servicing
the old one.

This Manual is on E-BAY:
It is listed as the SAME MF PART number as my Manual:
Is it the correct manual that you require? It is the same part number.
Picture/contents are the same as my Manual.

We'll find out soon. Who did you use for parts on this engine?

It looks like a Perkins Diesel A3.152 engine.

(quoted from post at 11:17:36 12/15/15) On the a3.152 the injectors are straight up out of the head(indirect injection), on the ad3.152 the injectors are in at an angle.

Confirmed A3.152 with vertical injectors.

We found a crack in the head, orange peel pitting under the #2 cylinder along with ~100 PSI compression test result on #2 as well. Liners look like they need to be replaced also.

(quoted from post at 17:30:36 12/15/15) Is this engine CHROMED LINERS and Steel Rings OR Steel Liners and CHROMED rings?

Bob...

We don't have the liners out of the block yet. From what I remember, the chrome/steel liners and chrome/steel rings have different flange thicknesses usually? Other than that, is there a way we can tell?

Would you know what the "E" in your ENGINE serial # represents? "E" ?

Thanks

This is what I'm having trouble with...I have a service manual here, but nowhere can I find the "W" and "E" in serial number breaks!!

I'm trying to locate a correct cylinder head for this tractor (and parts for an in-frame engine overhaul and complete engine overhaul, as this is what we found...(see picture)...

Well look at that! Thank you!

Any idea what the "E" is in engine serial number? [Engine Serial Number: 19E9136 C] I noted that most of the engine serial numbers in my service manual & in online resources usually have a "3" where there is an "E" in my serial number. This is why I'm having a bit of trouble picking out engine parts...
