MF 165 Carb

Hey all,
I have a MF 165 gasser (I guess that is implied in the subject), and am in need of a replacement carb.
It currently has a Marvel Schebler TSX 695 on it which has several broken/missing parts.
This is not listed as the stock carb for it - it is listed for a MF 65, 150 and 175.
It should, I believe, have a TSX 884 on it.
The local parts yard has another TSX 695 but not TSX 884.
I notice the rebuild kits are common to both so, given that it already had a 695 on it (no idea how it ran with it), is that a suitable replacement?
Or will it not run correctly?

Since both the 65 and the 165 have the same engine I think it would work. This advice is worth about what you paid for it.

Just thought I might be wrong on that. Perhaps the 165 has a Perkins while the 65 had a continental.

Nope... Continual. G176(?)I think.

I figured it would be ok since it is what was on there....

Perkins gas all came with Zenith carbs..
