hydraulic lift issue

I have a MF 135 UK. I just put the snowblower on for this winter, 2015 / 2016. The hydraulics will not lift it up very far. All summer I ran a bush hog and it lifted it just fine. Have I missed adjusted the different arms, thereby preventing it from lifting as it should?

Hello,
This sounds like wear in the control spring mechanism. Does your snow blower exert a heavy pulling force on the top link when being lifted? To check the spring operation disconnect the top link. Place the DRAFT lever in the fully lowered position. By hand see if there is any free travel in the top link attachment rocker. Ideally there should NO endfloat. Anything more that 1/16 to 1/8" suggests that the adjustment and control spring unit need to be serviced.
There should be plenty of info on here to do it. Let us know what you find.

Disconnect the top link. Slip a pin through the casting with the three holes. Run a chain from the top link point on the blower to the pin through the rear casting isolating the spring loaded top link connecting point. Carefully try to lift the blower. If it lifts it with no problem, the control valve linkage needs adjusting. The spring loaded link will probobly require adjusting also.

Ok I will check as you both suggest and get back to you. It will be a few days but I will get at it.

Thanks Guys

Connected chain as suggested and blower lifted easily. How do I make the necessary adjustments as suggested? I think it is time to purchase a good manual

I have an I and T manual which is 50 miles away. I have never had to adjust mine. Learned the chain trick on another forum. I'm sure there is someone here that can help you out.

Yes, a good workshop manual is essential. Adjustment of the control spring and linkage is straight forward. The biggest problem that you may have is removing it from the tractor to start. There are plenty of posts on here detailing how to do it.

Could someone let us know if the MF 35 X Diesel with 3 point lift from England has the same adjusting procedure as the 135? I can post the procedure for the MF 35 X Diesel.
