Could someone tell me if these levers are in the corect location? In my manual it shows both levers on the right side of the roller. Just wondering if someone has a factory manual or has had one of these apart could tell me if this is correct.

Hi,
Definately wrong! The spring pressure from the control valve spring must act on both levers to give you the position and draft functions. Both should be on the right hand side.

David thanks for the reply. I switched both levers to the right side. The problem im having is the draft doesnt seem to be working correctly. when the draft lever is all the way down(forward) the implement will raise all the way up and the position lever has no affect on the position of the implement.

Hi,
The explanation given in the MF workshop manual is quite detailed and long. I would suggest that you get hold of a genuine MF manual and it will explain the operation. A simple chech that you can carry out is to observe the operation of the pump levers in relation to the movement of the quadrant levers and the 3-point linkage. When you raise the position lever on the quadrant the lever nearest to you should allow the pump lever to move forward into the pumping position. When you lower the quadrant lever the pump lever should be pushed rearwards. The draft lever adjusts the loading on the linkage so that forces transmitted to the tractor via the top link such as with a plough can be monitored by the hydraulic system. Once set, changes in soil conditions will cause the linkage to change its set position and the inner lever will raise or lower the plough in the ground.
I suspect that either the frame or frames in the lift cover may be bent and not working smoothly. Another common problem is the roller which runs on the ram arm seized or has cut a track in the ram arm and lost its adjustment.
I suggest that you remove the cover and make sure that all of the linkage is free and has no major wear present. The manual will give the initial linkage settings.
