I saw a MF65 (gas) on craigslist for sale that needed engine work. Are parts very expensive or hard to get for this engine? Anything special or unusual about working on one?I was thinking of buying it to repair and resell. Thanks,Mark

I went fan to flywheel and had 1500 messed up in it. The "complete" engine kit was 900 or so and the rest was machine work. It purrs like a kitten.

This site, YT that is, has a good selection of parts for the Continental engine. I gotta say, the Continental is one smooth engine. Funny how the old engine makers like Continental and Buda sort of faded away. They made real good stuff.

Mark, its a wet sleeve engine if you were not already aware. They are a little different when it comes to sleeve swaps. I personally think the Z134 engine is terrific and the engine in the 65 is very similar. Parts are readily available but it's hard to rebuild an antique tractor and make any money on it, at least it's hard for me.

These days is kind of hard to buy (unless you get them dirt cheap), and fix/sell tractors to get a good return on your investment (unless you know of someone who's really looking for tractor like the 65). The money now is in repairing other peoples tractors.
