mf 491 pto stops working

MF491 The PTO shaft stops working after about an hour of running. I checked the hydraulic oil and it is full and clear. When it first stops it seems to disengage for a few seconds and then re engage a few times but then will not engage at all until I let it set for a while.

since then I have replaced the hydraulic filter and have overfilled it with fluid. after an hour of running perfect it is back to the same cycling of the pto clutch. other hydraulics are working fine.
