MF 65 gauge set delivered...now what...

I've ordered my gauge set off ebay and received them yesterday, except they sent two amperes gauges and no fuel gauge. I contacted them and the fuel gauge is being shipped. What I'm wanting to do is remove the dash and old gauges and paint the dash prior to setting the new gauges.
Any tips tricks to know before getting into removing the old gauges?
Will the new gauges likely wire up the same? Currently the only gauges that appear to work are the RPM and the oil. The fuel moves just a hair when powered up, the rest are rusted.

I just did this with a MF 175 that I have in the shop. I would suggest taking lots of photos to document how things were before. Remove the serial number tag to avoid painting over it. The bottom of the 150, 165 & 175 panel is often rotten where it attaches to the shift plate. Repair this first before painting. Don't loose throttle control parts,, carefully label them, most of these parts are no longer available from the dealer.

It's hard to say how well the new aftermarket gauges will work or connect without knowing the supplier or without a picture of what you're working with and what you plan to install. Some aftermarket parts are great and some are not so good. Kind of the luck of the draw.

Good luck

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check out how things are and document it, via photos too and tape. I will let you know how things turn out.
