PS cylinder rebuild MF50

PS cylinder leaking badly. Empties the reservior very quickly. Cyl. covered in oil, dirt, grill a mess, crud in the radiator.

I will get it out of the tractor. Then what?

Looking for your experiences. Where to get parts, tools needed, easier to take to a cylinder shop for repair?

Usually I take implement HYD. cylinders to a local shop for overhauls.

Thanks for your help and advice.

It's not to bad of a job to replace the seals, just hope nothings rusted like the inside of the cyl. or the rod. Both are hard to come by.

Hey, Hay. Does your PS cylinder look like this? Mine (150) had a cracked fitting (inverted flare) on the pressure side of the control valve and leaking at the control valve seal (SKF 6741) and o-ring. I didn't have to rebuild the cylinder, so I can't help there. I couldn't unscrew the valve spool from the link so I destroyed the seal to get to the spiral snap ring behind the seal. The dust cover is held on by three drive rivet and there is an o-ring in the spool housing. I took the entire unit off and worked with it on the bench.

Tom and John, Thanks for the photos, and manual diagrams, very helpful. I think I will pull the assy out and work on it on the bench.
Wish I had that fancy manual. Can't find one on ebay. Hay hay hay
