CCA`s question...

MF 165 diesel with(I believe) the Perkins 203. It`s got a failing 700 cca battery in it now but a buddy of mine(retired Ford mechanic, cars & trucks, Not tractors tho) told me he thought I should Upgrade to a bigger battery because its a diesel?!? Any advise is very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!!.....GAS

It depends a lot on when you use it summer only, year round? Also how easily does it start? If you only use it in the summer and it starts easily you can get by with a 700 amp, but if not I would go for the biggest battery I could get to fit the battery box. IMO

Actually (Here in The UK anyway)The MF 165 Mk.II was fitted with The 212 engine which apparently had a big more 'grunt' than the 203 which was used in The Mk.I

If you take your old battery to an auto parts store they'll know what type it is. (Where the posts are, etc.) And they'll know what can replace it.

I always tell them to get the biggest battery in that size/type - I was the thing to crank so fast that it slows down when it starts. :D
