Removing main drive shaft to replace new seals on petrol MF 35 dual clutch . My manual does not give enough specs for my model. I have removed bottom plate to PTO shaft, removed clips and removed quill assembly .looking at posts they say this PTO shaft is to be removed from the front so the PTO gear will drop down to allow upper drive shaft to be removed. This doesn't seem possible as I can only move it so far before it hits on the back of PTO gear. The Pto shaft as a thread inside which I thought might be for a tool to remove it but to me it looks more like its for replacement to get it back thru the drive gear. I say this because to me its looking more and more that I need to split the transmission from the rear to be able to slide this shaft backwards to disengage the drive gear is this correct as I don't want to force it.
